Cabe destacar que la tenacibaculosis causada por T. dicentrarchi en Chile es la segunda causa de mortalidad de salmones cultivados y el pat\u00f3geno es causante de problemas sanitarios en Atl\u00e1ntico cultivado en Noruega y Australia, por lo que el conocimiento es aporte a nivel mundial.<\/p>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n \u201cIn vitro phenotypic evidence for the utilization of iron from different sources and siderophores production in the fish pathogen Tenacibaculum dicentrarchi\u201d, realizada por los investigadores de la l\u00ednea \u201cSalud animal en estadios de vida de agua dulce de salm\u00f3nidos\u201d del INCAR, Dr. Ruben Avenda\u00f1o, Dra. M\u00f3nica Saldarriaga, Dra. Macarena Echeverr\u00eda e Ing. Rute Irgang, revel\u00f3 que 38 aislados chilenos de T. dicentrarchi recuperados de salm\u00f3n Atl\u00e1ntico y congrio colorado, as\u00ed como la cepa tipo de la especie crecieron en el medio con quelante de hierro y adem\u00e1s, produjeron sider\u00f3foros para facilitar la captaci\u00f3n del mismo. Sin embargo, 37 de los 38 aislados, utilizando al menos cuatro de cinco fuentes de hierro (es decir, citrato de hierro y amonio, sulfato ferroso, cloruro de hierro hexahidratado, hemoglobina y\/o hemina). \u201cCuando estas fuentes de hierro se agregaron a medios deficientes en hierro, la mayor\u00eda de los aislados fue capaz de crecer a concentraciones altas (100 \u00b5M), las cuales son com\u00fanmente t\u00f3xicas para las bacterias, aunque el rendimiento celular fue menor cuando se us\u00f3 hemina\u201d, explicaron al respecto los investigadores.<\/p>\n<p>Los cient\u00edficos tambi\u00e9n descubrieron que bajo condiciones de restricci\u00f3n o suplementaci\u00f3n de hierro, T. dicentrarchi induce al menos una prote\u00edna de membrana de aproximadamente 37,9 kDa, cuyo tama\u00f1o podr\u00eda corresponder a una prote\u00edna de uni\u00f3n al hierro de la familia FutA1. Es importante destacar que todos los resultados fenot\u00edpicos y biol\u00f3gicamente funcionales fueron confirmados por los autores mediante an\u00e1lisis in silico del genoma de distintos aislados de T. dicentrarchi.<\/p>\n<p>La importancia del estudio est\u00e1 relacionada con que el hierro es un elemento crucial para el crecimiento de las bacterias.
