M\u00f3nica Saldarriaga-C\u00f3rdoba y Rute Irgang, describi\u00f3 una nueva especie bacteriana bautizada como Tenacibaculum bernardettii.<\/p>\n<p>La nueva especie descrita como PVT-9aT \u00a0fue aislada de una lesi\u00f3n en la piel de un ejemplar de salm\u00f3n Atl\u00e1ntico durante un brote de tenacibaculosis causado por T. dicentrarchi ocurrido en 2016 en un centro de cultivo. La tenacibaculosis fue reconocida por el Servicio Nacional de Pesca y Acuicultura en junio del 2018 y desde entonces se reporta en la clasificaci\u00f3n de mortalidades, convirti\u00e9ndose\u00a0las bacterias del g\u00e9nero Tenacibaculum en la segunda causa de muerte del salm\u00f3n del Atl\u00e1ntico cultivado en Chile.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-56478  alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundoacuicola.cl\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/RubeNAvendano2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"492\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundoacuicola.cl\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/RubeNAvendano2.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.mundoacuicola.cl\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/RubeNAvendano2-500x267.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.mundoacuicola.cl\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/RubeNAvendano2-250x133.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.mundoacuicola.cl\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/RubeNAvendano2-167x89.jpg 167w, https:\/\/www.mundoacuicola.cl\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/RubeNAvendano2-564x301.jpg 564w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 492px) 100vw, 492px\" \/>\u201cDesde 2016, nuestro grupo de investigaci\u00f3n ha intensificado los muestreos sanitarios de peces con tenacibaculosis en la Patagonia chilena, as\u00ed como el aislamiento de bacterias consistentes con las caracter\u00edsticas del g\u00e9nero Tenacibaculum. De hecho, hemos detectado la existencia de coinfecciones por distintas especies del mismo g\u00e9nero, como ocurri\u00f3 con T. dicentrarchi y la nueva especie T. bernardetii, as\u00ed como en otras bacterias en que actualmente estamos trabajando para determinar su posici\u00f3n taxon\u00f3mica. En esta nueva publicaci\u00f3n, informamos el aislamiento, caracterizaci\u00f3n e identificaci\u00f3n de la cepa tipo PVT-9aT y la denominamos Tenacibaculum bernardetii en honor al aporte realizado por el Profesor Jean Francois Bernardet (Francia), microbi\u00f3logo que dedic\u00f3 su vida al estudio de la familia Flavobacteriaceae, a la que pertenece el g\u00e9nero Tenacibaculum\u201d, informaron los investigadores en la publicaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica donde dieron a conocer el nuevo descubrimiento.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abCon esta nueva descripci\u00f3n, los Tenacibaculum descritos se incrementan a 34 especies y futuros estudios debieran ser realizados para determinar si la nueva especie tiene el potencial de provocar mortalidades en salm\u00f3n del Atl\u00e1ntico y confirmar los postulados de Koch. Sin embargo, estas bacterias tambi\u00e9n podr\u00edan ser parte de la microbiota del ambiente acu\u00e1tico marino o podr\u00edan actuar sin\u00e9rgicamente con T. dicentrarchi u otras bacterias para favorecer el proceso infeccioso.
