Este hito promete revolucionar nuestra comprensi\u00f3n sobre el metabolismo de los l\u00edpidos en el cerebro, y lograr grandes avances en nuestra comprensi\u00f3n de la ciencia en el \u00e1mbito de los \u00e1cidos grasos esenciales.<\/p>\n<p>Para ello, los cient\u00edficos utilizaron an\u00e1lisis de is\u00f3topos de compuestos espec\u00edficos (CSIA), una t\u00e9cnica nunca antes aplicada en l\u00edpidos. Esta t\u00e9cnica permite identificar con precisi\u00f3n el metabolismo de \u00e1cidos grasos Omega-3 ALA\/EPA\/DHA.<\/p>\n<p>A trav\u00e9s de CSIA, los cient\u00edficos pueden obtener informaci\u00f3n valiosa acerca del origen de un l\u00edpido y su transformaci\u00f3n a lo largo de distintos procesos como ser la digesti\u00f3n, por ejemplo. Gracias a esta t\u00e9cnica vanguardista, ser\u00e1 posible evidenciar c\u00f3mo el consumo de \u00e1cido graso alfa-linol\u00e9nico, Omega-3 de origen vegetal que puede encontrarse en la ch\u00eda, es suficiente para cubrir los requerimientos totales de DHA del cerebro, y por lo tanto contribuir a la salud cerebral y funciones neurol\u00f3gicas.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>El importante rol de Chile<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Chile se posiciona como un l\u00edder mundial en la fabricaci\u00f3n de Omega-3 de calidad. En Arica, Golden Omega y Benexia son actores de clase mundial en lo que respecta a la producci\u00f3n de Omega-3 de origen animal, pescado; y vegetal, de ch\u00eda.
