{"id":83907,"date":"2025-12-29T09:14:43","date_gmt":"2025-12-29T13:14:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mundoacuicola.cl\/new\/?p=83907"},"modified":"2025-12-30T12:34:26","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T16:34:26","slug":"estudio-revelo-el-potencial-ecologico-de-anemonas-marinas-para-comprender-y-enfrentar-el-biofouling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mundoacuicola.cl\/new\/estudio-revelo-el-potencial-ecologico-de-anemonas-marinas-para-comprender-y-enfrentar-el-biofouling\/","title":{"rendered":"Potencial ecol\u00f3gico de an\u00e9monas marinas frente al biofouling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El estudio titulado \u201cArsenal qu\u00edmico de las an\u00e9monas marinas: efectos antifouling sobre larvas de briozoos e interacciones interespec\u00edficas\u201d, recientemente publicado en la revista cient\u00edfica Biofouling, entreg\u00f3 nuevos antecedentes sobre el rol ecol\u00f3gico de compuestos naturales producidos por an\u00e9monas marinas y su efecto sobre organismos incrustantes.<\/p>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n evalu\u00f3 experimentalmente el impacto de sustancias liberadas por an\u00e9monas marinas sobre el comportamiento y el asentamiento larval del briozoo Bugulina flabellata, una especie altamente invasora y com\u00fan en procesos de bioincrustaci\u00f3n marina. Desde una perspectiva ecol\u00f3gica, el trabajo tambi\u00e9n aborda el rol de estos compuestos en las interacciones interespec\u00edficas dentro de comunidades incrustantes.<\/p>\n<p>El trabajo se enmarca en el campo de la ecolog\u00eda qu\u00edmica, ya que se centra en la comprensi\u00f3n de interacciones naturales entre especies marinas. En este sentido, el estudio destaca que los efectos observados son espec\u00edficos y ecol\u00f3gicamente relevantes, contribuyendo a explicar c\u00f3mo se regulan los procesos de asentamiento y competencia en comunidades incrustantes.<\/p>\n<p>Se entiende por biofouling como una colonizaci\u00f3n de superficies sumergidas por organismos como briozoos, ascidias y algas, y representa un problema de alcance global, con importantes consecuencias econ\u00f3micas y ambientales. En sectores como la navegaci\u00f3n y la acuicultura, estas incrustaciones elevan los costos operacionales, mientras que las soluciones tradicionales, basadas en pinturas antifouling con biocidas, generan impactos negativos en especies no objetivo y en los ecosistemas marinos.<\/p>\n<p>Al respecto, el Dr. Javier Pinochet Romero, autor del estudio, explic\u00f3 que \u201cesta investigaci\u00f3n busca comprender c\u00f3mo determinadas interacciones ecol\u00f3gicas naturales pueden generar efectos sobre el asentamiento de una especie invasora, aportando evidencia sobre mecanismos poco explorados en comunidades incrustantes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Por su parte, el Dr. Antonio Brante, investigador responsable del proyecto FONDECYT y co-autor de la publicaci\u00f3n, se\u00f1al\u00f3 que \u201cestamos tratando de expandir el alcance de nuestro trabajo en el proyecto, estudiando diferentes factores que podr\u00edan directa o indirectamente explicar el \u00e9xito de especies invasoras.
