Mar\u00edn y desarrollada por investigadores del Centro FONDAP IDEAL de la Universidad Austral de Chile, junto a especialistas del Instituto de Acuicultura y Medio Ambiente de la Universidad Austral, el Instituto Milenio en Socio-Ecolog\u00eda Costera, la Universidad de Los Lagos y centros de investigaci\u00f3n internacionales vinculados a la University of Tasmania y CSIRO Environment.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"711\" data-end=\"1061\">El estudio analiz\u00f3 sistemas costeros y fiordos de la Patagonia chilena, incorporando variables ecol\u00f3gicas y sociales para construir el denominado <strong data-start=\"903\" data-end=\"952\">Salmon Farming Potential Impact Index (SFPII)<\/strong>, una herramienta dise\u00f1ada para apoyar la planificaci\u00f3n espacial marina y la toma de decisiones regulatorias.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"711\" data-end=\"1061\"><strong>Impactos<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1386\">Publicada en la revista <em data-start=\"1087\" data-end=\"1132\">Environmental and Sustainability Indicators<\/em>, la investigaci\u00f3n integr\u00f3 informaci\u00f3n espacial sobre presi\u00f3n productiva, sensibilidad ecol\u00f3gica y factores socioecon\u00f3micos, permitiendo visualizar gradientes de impacto potencial asociados a la salmonicultura, en lugar de evaluaciones discretas o sectoriales.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1388\" data-end=\"1746\">Los resultados muestran una superposici\u00f3n significativa entre \u00e1reas con alta sensibilidad ecol\u00f3gica y zonas con elevada presi\u00f3n de centros de cultivo, especialmente en fiordos y canales del sur austral, donde los ecosistemas presentan baja capacidad de regeneraci\u00f3n y alta vulnerabilidad frente a cambios en par\u00e1metros ambientales como ox\u00edgeno disuelto y pH.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1748\" data-end=\"2182\">Seg\u00fan concluyen los autores, el uso de herramientas integradas como el SFPII permite avanzar hacia enfoques de gesti\u00f3n m\u00e1s adaptativos y preventivos, al identificar territorios prioritarios para la regulaci\u00f3n, la conservaci\u00f3n o el ajuste de la intensidad productiva.
