As\u00ed lo demuestra una investigaci\u00f3n desarrollada por el Dr. Felipe Reyes-L\u00f3pez, investigador del Centro de Biotecnolog\u00eda Acu\u00edcola de la Universidad de Santiago de Chile, cuyos resultados evidencian que la condici\u00f3n poiquilot\u00e9rmica de los peces &#8211; organismos cuya temperatura corporal es influenciada por la temperatura del medioambiente &#8211; cumple un rol central en la respuesta frente a infecciones parasitarias.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSe ha observado que la temperatura modula la respuesta inmune innata, la presentaci\u00f3n antig\u00e9nica y la respuesta celular, lo que implica que un mismo organismo puede reaccionar de manera muy distinta frente a un pat\u00f3geno dependiendo de la temperatura y la estaci\u00f3n del a\u00f1o\u201d, se\u00f1ala el investigador.<\/p>\n<p>En ese sentido, en el caso espec\u00edfico del salm\u00f3n del Atl\u00e1ntico, el aumento sostenido de la temperatura del agua &#8211; provocada por cambio clim\u00e1tico y el progresivo calentamiento de los oc\u00e9anos &#8211; act\u00faa como un estresor fisiol\u00f3gico, lo que obliga al organismo a destinar grandes cantidades de energ\u00eda para mantener su equilibrio y supervivencia, en desmedro de otros sistemas, como el inmunol\u00f3gico.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Inmunosupresi\u00f3n generalizada<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u201cCuando el estr\u00e9s t\u00e9rmico se sostiene en el tiempo, puede provocar una inmunosupresi\u00f3n generalizada, reduciendo la capacidad del salm\u00f3n para responder frente a agentes infecciosos\u201d, explica Reyes-L\u00f3pez quien a\u00f1ade, adem\u00e1s, que estos desequilibrios favorecen la proliferaci\u00f3n de pat\u00f3genos, como el piojo de mar, los que afectan a la salmonicultura.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNuestros resultados confirman que la poiquilotermia del salm\u00f3n del Atl\u00e1ntico influye directamente en su respuesta frente a la infestaci\u00f3n por el piojo de mar (<em>Caligus rogercresseyi<\/em>)\u201d, se\u00f1ala el investigador quien adem\u00e1s detall\u00f3 la relaci\u00f3n que existe entre las estaciones del a\u00f1o y el \u201calto grado de especificidad de la respuesta de la mucosa de la piel en respuesta a la infestaci\u00f3n por caligus\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Los resultados de esta investigaci\u00f3n fueron presentados en la 5th International Conference of\u00a0 the International Society of Fish &amp; Shellfish Immunology, realizada el pasado noviembre de 2025 en Tainan (Taiwan), donde el Dr. Felipe Reyes L\u00f3pez fue invitado como expositor por el comit\u00e9 organizador de esta prestigiosa conferencia mundial.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Estudio de la USACH muestra c\u00f3mo el cambio clim\u00e1tica afecta la respuesta inmune del salm\u00f3n atl\u00e1ntico frente a Caligus rogercresseyi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":84823,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[60],"tags":[1261,143,457,542,1423,28702,122,2907,23445,476,184,1357,2273,197,3447,16536,763,1421],"class_list":["post-84818","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-salmonicultura","tag-acuicola","tag-acuicultura","tag-caligus-rogercresseyi","tag-cambio-climatico","tag-centro-de-biotecnologia-acuicola","tag-felipe-reyes","tag-industria-acuicola","tag-industria-salmonera","tag-inmunidad-de-peces","tag-piojo-de-mar","tag-salmon","tag-salmon-atlantico","tag-salmon-chileno","tag-salmonicultura","tag-salmonicultura-chilena","tag-temperatura-del-mar","tag-universidad-de-santiago-de-chile","tag-usach"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
