Su trabajo se orienta al desarrollo de investigaci\u00f3n y soluciones para zonas costeras, oc\u00e9anos y bienestar humano.<\/p>\n<h3>Investigaci\u00f3n para el monitoreo de FAN en aguas \u00f3pticamente complejas<\/h3>\n<p>La etapa inicial de colaboraci\u00f3n entre Plancton Andino y HBOI\/FAU se enfoca en el estudio de\u00a0<strong>Floraciones Algales Nocivas (FAN)<\/strong>\u00a0en\u00a0<strong>aguas \u00f3pticamente complejas del sur de Chile<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Uno de los objetivos t\u00e9cnicos consiste en aplicar herramientas para calcular\u00a0<strong>se\u00f1ales bio-\u00f3pticas asociadas a FAN<\/strong>. Esta l\u00ednea permitir\u00e1 estudiar, durante los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os, casos con distintos\u00a0<strong>coeficientes de absorci\u00f3n espectral y reflectancia<\/strong>, con el prop\u00f3sito de crear\u00a0<strong>librer\u00edas digitales<\/strong>\u00a0y se\u00f1ales que entreguen informaci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida y veraz.<\/p>\n<p>El proyecto se articula bajo el eje\u00a0<strong>Teledetecci\u00f3n, color del oc\u00e9ano y FAN en aguas \u00f3pticamente complejas<\/strong>, con la participaci\u00f3n inicial de Mike Twardowski, Tim Moore y Alejandro Cl\u00e9ment.<\/p>\n<h3>Bio-\u00f3ptica, teledetecci\u00f3n y color del oc\u00e9ano<\/h3>\n<p>Durante la agenda de trabajo, Alejandro Cl\u00e9ment se re\u00fane con investigadores de HBOI\/FAU vinculados al uso de\u00a0<strong>color del oc\u00e9ano para la detecci\u00f3n de FAN<\/strong>, entre ellos Mike Twardowski, Tim Moore, Alberto Tonizzo y Wayne Slade.<\/p>\n<p>Tim Moore aporta una l\u00ednea de trabajo vinculada a la\u00a0<strong>percepci\u00f3n remota del color del oc\u00e9ano<\/strong>, el desarrollo de\u00a0<strong>algoritmos bio-\u00f3pticos<\/strong>\u00a0y el uso de\u00a0<strong>im\u00e1genes satelitales<\/strong>\u00a0para monitoreo ambiental, calidad de agua y detecci\u00f3n de Floraciones Algales Nocivas.<\/p>\n<p>El programa busca aplicar estas capacidades al estudio de Floraciones Algales Nocivas en aguas \u00f3pticamente complejas del sur de Chile. Para ello, re\u00fane\u00a0<strong>instrumentaci\u00f3n bio-\u00f3ptica, teledetecci\u00f3n, an\u00e1lisis digital de im\u00e1genes<\/strong>\u00a0y herramientas de apoyo a la acuicultura.<\/p>\n<h3>Holograf\u00eda digital e im\u00e1genes in situ<\/h3>\n<p>La colaboraci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n considera el intercambio t\u00e9cnico en torno a\u00a0<strong>tecnolog\u00edas de holograf\u00eda digital<\/strong>. Esta \u00e1rea utiliza\u00a0<strong>sistemas l\u00e1ser e instrumentos in situ<\/strong>\u00a0para generar hologramas de part\u00edculas presentes en la columna de agua.<\/p>\n<p>Esta l\u00ednea da continuidad a contenidos abordados por Plancton Andino en HABTECh3025, instancia en que\u00a0<strong>Aditya R. Nayak<\/strong>, de Florida Atlantic University, present\u00f3 el uso de holograf\u00eda aplicada a estudios de plancton. Tambi\u00e9n se relaciona con la visi\u00f3n presentada por Alejandro Cl\u00e9ment en HABTECH 2025, instancia en que Plancton Andino abord\u00f3 el futuro del monitoreo marino a partir de\u00a0<strong>vigilancia continua, integraci\u00f3n de datos, observaciones in situ, sensores, modelaci\u00f3n y herramientas anal\u00edticas<\/strong>\u00a0para anticipar procesos oceanogr\u00e1ficos y biol\u00f3gicos.<\/p>\n<p>La holograf\u00eda digital fortalece el estudio de organismos y part\u00edculas en la columna de agua, con aplicaciones relevantes para el an\u00e1lisis de FAN y para el desarrollo de\u00a0<strong>sistemas de observaci\u00f3n con mayor resoluci\u00f3n espacial y temporal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Bioluminiscencia marina y tecnolog\u00edas de medici\u00f3n avanzada<\/h3>\n<p>Otra l\u00ednea de inter\u00e9s corresponde al estudio de la\u00a0<strong>bioluminiscencia marina<\/strong>\u00a0y al desarrollo de tecnolog\u00edas de alto nivel para medir la\u00a0<strong>cin\u00e9tica de los pulsos de luz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Esta \u00e1rea se relaciona con el inter\u00e9s p\u00fablico que generaron durante abril de 2026 los\u00a0<strong>fen\u00f3menos lum\u00ednicos nocturnos asociados a floraciones fitoplanct\u00f3nicas<\/strong>\u00a0en la Regi\u00f3n de Coquimbo. Estos eventos muestran la importancia de contar con herramientas cient\u00edficas y tecnol\u00f3gicas capaces de observar, medir e interpretar\u00a0<strong>procesos biol\u00f3gicos y \u00f3pticos<\/strong>\u00a0en ambientes marinos.<\/p>\n<p>En este contexto, el estudio de la bioluminiscencia permite ampliar las capacidades de observaci\u00f3n de fen\u00f3menos asociados a organismos, part\u00edculas y\u00a0<strong>se\u00f1ales lum\u00ednicas en la columna de agua<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<section id=\"vue-global\">\n<section id=\"contenido-single\">\n<div class=\"container-fluid cp\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-lg-8 offset-lg-2\">\n<div class=\"contenido\">\n<h3>Ciencia aplicada para decisiones m\u00e1s precisas<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/medioscomunicaciones.cl\/e\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-88039 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundoacuicola.cl\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/LecturaNoticias.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"340\" height=\"340\" \/><\/a><\/span>La integraci\u00f3n de\u00a0<strong>tecnolog\u00edas bio-\u00f3pticas, teledetecci\u00f3n, bio-im\u00e1genes, software e inteligencia artificial<\/strong>\u00a0fue presentada como una v\u00eda para impulsar una revoluci\u00f3n en la\u00a0<strong>resoluci\u00f3n espacial y temporal<\/strong>\u00a0de los estudios de Floraciones Algales Nocivas.<\/p>\n<p>La integraci\u00f3n de bio-im\u00e1genes, datos en tiempo cuasi-real, software e inteligencia artificial aparece como una v\u00eda para apoyar\u00a0<strong>decisiones m\u00e1s precisas<\/strong>\u00a0y generar\u00a0<strong>alertas y pron\u00f3sticos tempranos<\/strong>\u00a0en ecosistemas acu\u00e1ticos.<\/p>\n<p>Para Plancton Andino, esta colaboraci\u00f3n fortalece una l\u00ednea de trabajo centrada en\u00a0<strong>ciencia aplicada, monitoreo ambiental avanzado<\/strong>\u00a0y herramientas para la toma de decisiones.
