En ese contexto, la nueva aproximaci\u00f3n propone analizar el material gen\u00e9tico que los peces liberan naturalmente al agua, a trav\u00e9s de mucosidad, desechos y c\u00e9lulas.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"697\" data-end=\"1053\"><strong>La mec\u00e1nica<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1055\" data-end=\"1285\">A diferencia del ADN ambiental (eDNA), que permite identificar especies, el ARN ambiental ofrece una se\u00f1al m\u00e1s din\u00e1mica, ya que refleja procesos biol\u00f3gicos en curso, como respuestas al estr\u00e9s, enfermedades o cambios en el entorno.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1287\" data-end=\"1448\">En el marco del proyecto, el profesor de la <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">University of Maine<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Michael Kinnison<\/span><\/span>, explic\u00f3 el alcance de esta herramienta:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1450\" data-end=\"1680\">\u201cEl objetivo es obtener una ventana hacia la fisiolog\u00eda de los organismos, particularmente su estado de salud. Al analizar el ARN que liberan al entorno, podemos entender qu\u00e9 est\u00e1 ocurriendo en los peces como sistemas biol\u00f3gicos\u201d.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1682\" data-end=\"1934\">La investigaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n contempla el desarrollo de pruebas r\u00e1pidas basadas en tecnolog\u00eda CRISPR-Cas, que permitir\u00edan analizar muestras de agua de forma similar a un test de diagn\u00f3stico r\u00e1pido, facilitando la detecci\u00f3n temprana de problemas en terreno.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1936\" data-end=\"2102\">La acad\u00e9mica de la misma universidad, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Erin Grey<\/span><\/span>, destac\u00f3 el potencial de esta innovaci\u00f3n para reducir pr\u00e1cticas invasivas en la industria: \u201cEsto a\u00fan no se ha aplicado en salmones, pero es muy prometedor, porque podr\u00eda permitir detectar y tratar enfermedades sin necesidad de sacrificar peces para realizar biopsias\u201d.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1936\" data-end=\"2102\"><strong>Implementaci\u00f3n progresiva<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2283\" data-end=\"2506\">El proyecto comenzar\u00e1 con pruebas en sistemas controlados, como estanques, para luego avanzar hacia su aplicaci\u00f3n en centros de cultivo en el mar. Las evaluaciones se realizar\u00e1n en instalaciones en Estados Unidos y Escocia.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2508\" data-end=\"2652\">En una primera etapa, el estudio se enfocar\u00e1 en el an\u00e1lisis de estr\u00e9s t\u00e9rmico y furunculosis, dos problem\u00e1ticas relevantes en la salmonicultura.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2654\" data-end=\"2807\">Desde <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Queen\u2019s University Belfast<\/span><\/span>, el profesor <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Paulo Prod\u00f6hl<\/span><\/span> subray\u00f3 el potencial de esta tecnolog\u00eda para la industria: \u201cLa tecnolog\u00eda de ARN ambiental est\u00e1 en una etapa temprana, pero tiene un gran potencial.
